The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

The first time you run SQList Manager, you may encounter this error:

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect."

We encountered this error only on Windows Server 2008, but it could happen on other older versions of Windows. The cause is that some DLLs are missing, and if you look into the event Log, you should find that the culprit is a DDL named Microsoft.VC90.CRT.

To fix the issue, you need to install the following Microsoft update:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update

The update can be downloaded from this link.
